Welfare Committee
Welfare committee was set up to oversee the welfare of members of the Igbo Committee Aberdeen.
Sports Committee
The sports committee was formed to increase the fitness and health level of members of ICA. The sports committee organizes activities like bicycle riding, football.
Event and Planning Committee
The Events Committee is made up of the Event Chair, an excos rep. They are responsible for: Creating a comprehensive event plan including goals/desired outcomes and theme of the event for our Christmas parties and New yam festivals.
Current Affairs and Strategic issues advisory committee (CASIAC)
This committee looks analyze and review issues of strategic relevance to the welfare of Igbos and keep members abreast of same via seminars, occasional write-ups, and presentations.
Homeland development ideas committee (Homelands)
Develop, promote and influence sustainable development of Igboland via ideas development and sharing as well as stakeholder engagement, sensitization, and enlightenment.
Peace and reconciliation committee
Proactively seek and promote initiatives that will sustain harmony and a good working environment for the mastermind alliance that is ICA.
Business and careers committee
This Committee supports members with business and career advice and has undertaken various business feasibility studies on behalf of ICA.
Media and IT committee
This Committee looks after the IT infrastructure of the ICA as wells as documenting the activities of the community and provides media coverage for the community.
Constitution committee (Ad hoc)
This committee is appointed by the general assembly. They are made up of five (5) full members of the community that are conversant with our constitution and knowledgeable in the affairs of the community.
Electoral Committee (Ad hoc)
The principal role of the Electoral Committee is to conduct elections for various positions every two years for ICA, members of this committee are appointed by the general house during a general meeting and are dissolved immediately after elections.
Brainstorming in a lighter manner
Brainstorm on our aims and objectives. This will enable us to emphasize and/or adjust the direction and definitely reset the sail (we are apolitical and focused on Aberdeen and shire but we can still have committees that educate and engage us in discussions that concerns our people at home and their plight which we Share).
