Upcoming Events
At inception in March 2012 ICA membership was 13 people, this has since grown to 160 registered members.
The affairs of ICA are coordinated by an executive committee led by a chairman. The executive committee is further supported by 10 functional standing committees each with its specific role as is evident in their names as listed below:
- Cultural Committee
- Events Committee
- Welfare Committee
- Sports and Health Committee
- Media and IT Committee
- Business and Careers Committee
- Peace and Reconciliation Committee
- Current Affairs and Strategic Issues Advisory Committee (CASIAC)
- Homeland Development Ideas Committee (Homelands)
- Constitution Committee
- Electoral Committee (Ad hoc)
- Leadership Teams
Every member of ICA (MICA) is encouraged to join one of the standing committees or volunteer for the occasional Ad hoc committees that are set up by the executive for specific Ad hoc tasks. The activities of the committees are guided by the terms of reference (TOR) agreed with the executive committee, which in turn is guided by the ICA constitution which serves as a structured guiding document for the association.
Since inception, ICA has been united as one people at times of joy and moments of sorrow. Members have gathered together to celebrate with one another during childbirths, birthdays, marriage anniversary, baby dedication etc. We have also been there for one another in challenging times.
ICA is open to all Igbos and their in-laws in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire aged 18 years and above. Membership of any married person with family automatically qualifies his/her entire household as full members of ICA. Associate membership is grantable to friends of ICA who cherish our activities and would want to identify with us.
ICA prides itself as a mastermind alliance of people working together for the benefit of each other and the improvement of the wider host community. ICA aims to create or promote integration and cohesion in the community.

Committees
The plan for the next two years involves strengthening the committees and increasing their scope to include some things that we decided not to add at first, as we were mindful of the need to get each committee properly grounded first. There are other committees that will be formed to cover some new areas that we are now ripe for given our current stage in our development as a group.
