At inception in March 2012 ICA membership was 13 people, this has since grown to 160 registered members.

The affairs of ICA are coordinated by an executive committee led by a chairman. The executive committee is further supported by 10 functional standing committees each with its specific role as is evident in their names as listed below:

Every member of ICA (MICA) is encouraged to join one of the standing committees or volunteer for the occasional Ad hoc committees that are set up by the executive for specific Ad hoc tasks. The activities of the committees are guided by the terms of reference (TOR) agreed with the executive committee, which in turn is guided by the ICA constitution which serves as a structured guiding document for the association.

Since inception, ICA has been united as one people at times of joy and moments of sorrow. Members have gathered together to celebrate with one another during childbirths, birthdays, marriage anniversary, baby dedication etc. We have also been there for one another in challenging times.

ICA is open to all Igbos and their in-laws in Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire aged 18 years and above. Membership of any married person with family automatically qualifies his/her entire household as full members of ICA. Associate membership is grantable to friends of ICA who cherish our activities and would want to identify with us.

ICA prides itself as a mastermind alliance of people working together for the benefit of each other and the improvement of the wider host community. ICA aims to create or promote integration and cohesion in the community.
