House briefed on the proposed Committees. Committees will make ICA to be very efficient and effective in delivering values and benefits to MICAs. The Committtes are considered permanent departments of ICA which any MICA is free to join voluntarily.

May 2015 Ikenna Asogwa and Sunday Odah elected into the ICA exco as vice chairman and assistant secretary respectively.

The prospect of ICA taking part in charity work in Igbo land was discussed at length. It was mentioned that ICA at present has the capability and is well placed to help in area of education in Igbo Land

The Business Committee presented the outcome of the concluded 1st phase of the brainstorming session held some months back. They informed the house that through the two sessions they had, they were able to identify options, group the options and went on to agree an options appraisal methodology and screening criteria. They stated that a further session that should hopefully have more people in attendance even if the people do not intend to eventually partake in any of the business options when it gets to the implementation stage. It was agreed that the Committee has delivered on their requirement by facilitating the brainstorming session; they were also given the go ahead to take it that step further as they proposed.

Awards night to appreciate the effort of various MICAS in delivering for the community
Oct 2016 Exco present journey since November 2014 (where we were, where we proposed to be, how we proposed to get there, where we are now and how we got there ie how the smart objectives set in October 2014 were systematically achieved one at a time with consistency and focus of the entire organization). Independent Electoral Committee, inaugurated with a mandate to deliver an entire electoral process in the month of November. General election called and micas encouraged to declare interest and in keeping with the commitment of micas to join the effort to serve ICA and continue the good idea that is ICA; many micas did declare interest on the day.
Nov 2016 Following the presentation of the journey so far by the exco and the call for a general election; MICA’s that were keen to continue the journey of piloting the affairs of the community made themselves available for election and an extremely interesting and fulfilled campaign period started on the 1st of November leading to a free, fair and election on the 26th of November 2016.

Dec 2016 The new exco was inaugurated at a fun filled end of year party funded from the communities pocket in keeping with the condition in Aberdeen and the duty of care and prioritizing the welfare of our members.
